Open pollination project on original Thyphoon seeds donated from Dyr (Tanska Seed Development) while the danish Gr\u00f8nStue forum stil existed. The seeds we got from Dyr was from around 2017-2018, and we decided to make some new and fresh seeds on this strain, we thought warranted a preservation.<\/p>\n
Thyphoon<\/strong> originates from Thylejren, a hippie commune camp in North Jutland, which was started in the 60\u00b4ies and still exists to this day. The strain is very old, probably grown all the way back to the origins of the hippie times in 60-70\u00b4ies, and it is fully adapted to the nordic climate.<\/p>\n Thyphoon<\/strong> has shown very similiar and strain characteristic phenotypes among the batch of seeds, we sprouted and grew; classic, very sativa dominant traits with long, stretchy and open-branched growth with thin, longfingered lightly green leaves and stretchy open buds that grow like pearls on a string, and also with a very high tendency of purple colorings on stems, leaf stalks and in the buds - the purple colors are genetic, and shows itself already in the vegetative phase, and it is therefore not anything to panick over, it is not a nutrient defiency, it is genetic. The plants commonly grow to around 1,5 to 2 meter in height, and they vary between more branched \u00b4christmas trees\u00b4 to single phenotypes. The strain is very mould-resistant, in part because of many generations of selections for the earliest and most mould resistant plants, but the very open and branched bud structure also helps a lot.<\/p>\n Thyphoon<\/strong> starts bloom shortly after midsummer here in Denmark, and is finished around mid august - mid september (depending on latitude). The strain has a rather discrete smell from far away, even in full bloom - which makes it easy to hide in your garden or guerilla spot. But if you poke your noose right into the bud and take a good sniff, you are met by a powerful spicy smell of pepper and hash. Potency and yield are both around medium, with some trimming work it is a fine sensimilla, but probably best used as a hashproducer.
